Qawwali Night at ICE Pakistan’s New Campus: A Celebration to Remember
The grand inauguration of ICE Pakistan’s brand new Islamabad Campus was marked with an unforgettable Qawwali Night on 21st August 2025. The evening brought together students, families, and guests for a celebration filled with music, culture, and togetherness.
The evening began with the formal inauguration of the new campus, a proud and historic moment for ICE Pakistan. The honour was carried out by Mr. and Mrs. Ashraf Chowdary, parents of Mr. Ejaz Ashraf Chowdary, along with Professor Sarah Williams, Pro Vice Chancellor (External Collaborations). Their ribbon-cutting symbolised the start of a new chapter for ICE in Islamabad, reflecting both family values and academic ambition. The audience warmly applauded this milestone, recognising it as the foundation for many achievements to come.
Following the inauguration, the celebrations turned into an evening of culture and music. Students from schools, colleges, and universities across the city joined in, along with their families, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere. The new campus quickly transformed into a hub of energy, laughter, and anticipation as people gathered to enjoy an evening of soulful performance.
The highlight of the event was the mesmerising performance by Nadeem Anjum Qawwal and his group. Their powerful voices, rhythmic beats, and the harmony of instruments captivated everyone in the audience. Students clapped along, families swayed to the rhythm, and the entire crowd joined in the joy of the moment. The music carried both depth and emotion, reminding everyone of the timeless beauty of this art form.
What made the night even more special was the mix of people it brought together. Students from different institutions had the chance to meet, share experiences, and enjoy a tradition that connects generations. For many young attendees, this was their first time experiencing live Qawwali in such a vibrant setting, and they described it as truly moving and unforgettable.
The event also welcomed distinguished guests, including Dr. Leah Fox, Dean of the College of Leadership & Innovation, and Dr. Ayoub Zouria, Associate Professor of External Engagement & Collaboration. Their presence added to the significance of the evening as ICE Pakistan celebrated not only the opening of its new campus but also its growing academic collaborations and cultural ties.
Throughout the evening, the sense of community was strong. Families enjoyed the performance together, while students mingled and created new connections. The Qawwali, led by Nadeem Anjum Qawwal, became more than just entertainment; it was a shared cultural experience that everyone could take pride in.
As the music reached its finale, the atmosphere was filled with applause, cheers, and smiling faces. People stayed back to talk, take photos, and soak in the memories of a night that was both joyous and meaningful.
The Grand Inauguration Qawwali Night was more than just the launch of a new campus. It reflected the values of ICE Pakistan bringing people together, celebrating culture, and creating lasting connections. The evening set the tone for what the new Islamabad Campus hopes to achieve: a place where academic excellence meets cultural richness, and where students can grow both intellectually and personally.
For everyone who attended, it was a night to remember, one that will remain in their hearts as a special beginning for ICE Pakistan’s new chapter.
