Professor Damien Page, Vice-Chancellor, Bucks New University (BNU), Imam Haseeb Jahangir, Multifaith Chaplaincy Manager & Coordinating Chaplain, BNU, and Mr Usman Akram, CEO, ICE Pakistan, visited Daanish School Islamabad, a flagship initiative of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
Daanish School gives children who have lost a parent, and children from families who could never afford school, a home, meals, books and a quality education, completely free.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr Muhammad Asghar Malik, Principal, Daanish School Islamabad. They toured the campus, visited the science and computer labs, sat in on art, calligraphy and geography classes, and met students who proudly shared what they are learning.
Professor Damien Page planted a tree with the students, a symbol of growth and a shared commitment to their future. The visit ended with a meeting with the school leadership and an exchange of souvenirs.
ICE Pakistan and Bucks New University thank Mr Muhammad Asghar Malik and the Daanish School family for their warm hospitality, and for the care they give these children every day.
